The Final Course ~ A Little Extra for Wholesome Evenings

The Final Course ~ A Little Extra for Wholesome Evenings

One Last Taste of Winter

Roasted Grapes with Creamy Brie, Honey, Thyme & Walnuts

We thought Chapter Four was the end… but it didn’t feel quite right to finish winter without one final course at the table.

So for the last day of August, we have a little bonus from our At the Table series ~ Roasted Grapes with Creamy Brie, Honey, Thyme & Walnuts.

There’s something wonderfully European about lingering at the table after dinner. The plates are cleared, another bottle might be opened, and something simple is placed in the middle to share.

Warm brie, sweet roasted grapes, a drizzle of honey, fresh thyme and toasted walnuts ~ served with crackers or crusty bread and perhaps a little red wine or dessert wine alongside.

For this one, we’ve served everything on our Bespoke Black Long Serving Platter. The long, dark shape makes a beautiful backdrop for the roasted grapes and creamy brie and turns something incredibly simple into a lovely final course for the table.

Roasted Grapes with Creamy Brie

Serves 4–6

Prep ~ 10 minutes
Roast ~ 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups red or black grapes, on the vine
  • 1 wheel of brie (200g)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey, plus extra to drizzle
  • 2–3 sprigs fresh thyme
  • ¼ cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • Sea salt flakes & cracked black pepper
  • Crackers or sliced sourdough, to serve

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C fan-forced. Place the grapes on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

  2. Drizzle with olive oil and honey. Scatter over the thyme, season with sea salt flakes and cracked pepper, then toss gently to coat.

  3. Roast for 18–20 minutes, until the grapes are soft, glossy and lightly blistered.

  4. Place the brie on your Bespoke Black Long Serving Platter, then spoon the warm roasted grapes over and around it, along with those beautiful juices from the tray.

  5. Scatter with the chopped walnuts and finish with another little drizzle of honey.

  6. Place it in the middle of the table with crackers or sliced sourdough, pour a little wine and let everyone help themselves.

The Final Course

And perhaps this is the loveliest way to end our winter At the Table series ~ not with another big meal, but with that final course you linger over.

Something warm to share. A beautiful platter in the middle of the table. A glass of wine. And nowhere to rush off to.

Today also marks the final day of our 20% off Servingware for August.

And then, just like that, winter is behind us.

We’re turning the page to longer days, lighter tables and a fresh new season ~ with plenty of spring inspiration coming soon. 🌿
